Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Summer is one of my favorite things. We had a busy couple of months with both older boys in soccer and end of school activities. We also celebrated Declan's bday and it's already my baby's first bday on the 12th. It was fun to see the kids progress in soccer this year as it was the first time for both of them. It will be interesting to see if they both want to play next year. Winning was a rare visitor to their games and I wonder how frustrated they felt by the end of the season. I am pretty competitive but have to admit that I was surprisingly not affected by all their losses. However, I do think that winning at least 50% of the time would be a lot more fun, both to watch and be a participant in.

We have enjoyed our first few days of summer holidays. The weather has been hot and we have tried to enjoy as much of it as possible. This week we went to the zoo, swimming pool, and spray park so far, but I fear the cooler weather starts tomorrow. I really do have housecleaning to catch up on anyway. Well here's a couple of pictures of what we've been up to. How's your summer?

Losing hasn't affected their confidence level!

 Ninjago lego cake, highly professional.

Declan's 2nd bday cake from Grandma Ward.

On our way south from Nipawin, SK, had to stop at this sign for a picture.

We had a quick visit with Great Grandma Baker in Saskatoon.

A pathetic shot of the hippo at the Calgary Zoo.

A little better shot of the hippo, he needs some dental work.
